Queensland-                                                                     Boulia Shire Council Tourism info:  07 47463386                 Road open- recent grading of road has improved  condition and aftermath of water over road from the Georgina River. Quite a lot of Traffic from Boulia to Alice travelling on the road 4X4's Tobermorey has a tyre service- it is worth getting flats fixed.               

Winton: ( All vehicles can use this road) From Boulia to Winton there is a one lane bituman rd with a few passing lanes. Some ruts on the side of the road need to be watched for.

Travellers are urged to take it slowly as there have been some fatalities recently.          

Western Australia call Laverton police 08 9031 1000.          Road Open to all vehicles between Laverton and Warburton.  Laverton Shire and Ngaanyatjarraku Shire can give you further details. Both these shires make a huge effort in maintaining the road and the WA section is in the best condition- and it is the longest section which is good for wear and tear on your vehicle. Ruts and bull dust cause most problems along with soft sand on the edges. There is severe corrugation in some places which slows your journey.
